Since 2002, Aurora Audio has been dedicated to building exceptional analog equipment. These two legacy products represent the foundation and the soul of our craft.
Gran Børresen founded Aurora Audio with a vision: to combine the warmth of classic analog design with modern reliability. Drawing from his experience at Neve and GML, the first GT modules were born — hand-built, point-to-point wired, and voiced with an engineer's ear.
While prototyping the first GTQ circuits, Gran realized that off-the-shelf DC power supplies introduced too much noise. He sourced EMI 40205 lab power supplies and modified them in-house with discrete Class-A regulation, low-noise references, and silver-plated terminals. Only 25 units of the "PSU-402 Aurora Custom" were built. Today, they are among the rarest — and most expensive — items in pro audio history.
The Aurora Sidecar Console redefined the compact studio console. For the first time, world-class Neve-style preamps, EQ, and dynamics were available in a portable, ergonomic desktop unit. The v1 (2004–2018) became an instant classic in project studios and mobile rigs worldwide.

These discontinued models are no longer in production, but their influence lives on in every current Aurora product.
PSU-402 Aurora Custom LEGACY 2003–2005
The "genesis power supply." Only 25 units hand-modified by Gran from EMI 40205 lab supplies. Never commercially released. Today commands prices upwards of $12,800 on the rare occasions one appears. The ultimate Aurora collectible.
Sidecar v1 LEGACY 2004–2018
The original Aurora Sidecar Console. A compact desktop mixing solution that combined 2 GTQ2-style preamps, GTC1 dynamics, 4-band EQ per channel, and a transformer-coupled summing bus. The wooden enclosure and hand-wired internals made every unit unique. Discontinued in 2018 when the v2 launched.
