The EZ1290-A73 shares the legendary 1073 Class-A circuit topology with the Super 1073 Classic — the same Class-A discrete transistor design, the same balanced transformer-coupled I/O. But where the Super 1073 Classic is a faithful celebration of the original, the EZ1290-A73 is a reimagining. Both are pure mic preamps with no EQ section — the EZ1290-A73 strips away everything except the preamp path itself.

The signature yellow vintage PCB isn't just cosmetic. It reflects a deliberate choice in circuit board material and layout philosophy that subtly alters the high-frequency parasitic characteristics of the signal path. The result: a touch more air on top, a slightly more open midrange, and a low-end that stays tight and controlled even when driven hard.
